MY Burgerlab turns THREE!

Hey all!

So l...yesterday was MY Burgerlab turned 3 years old!

Happy Birthday!!

In conjunction with their birthday, they have joint forces with The BIG Group and produced the Big Mac & Cheese Burger! Dum dum dum duuummmmm!

Check it out mates! The Big Mac & Cheese is a burger with a meat patty, a slice of fried mac & cheese smothered in cheese, onions, squid flakes and their signature charcoal buns! The best part is that you can choose between beef, chicken and vegetarian so everyone gets to eat! :)

All branches were only selling the Big Mac & Cheese which was a bit of a bummer for me because I love my Elvis no matter what. Oh well, all the proceeds for the day is donated to the Ebenezer home in Shah Alam and the Agatheans Shelter in Petaling Jaya. Also, each meal comes with a small pack of chips and a Pepsi.

Now let me tell you how it tasted! I ordered a to go order because I wasn't feeling too well but the car was filled with the smell of onions. Kind of like onion rings and I thought to myself, "I don't remember it having onion rings..."

When I got home and took the burger apart to make sure the buns don't get soggy before eating time, I saw the onions!! I seriously don't like onions...so I just took them out...but I'm sure it tastes good with them too. :S

I love burgerlabs beef patties because my elvis is beef and the patty is always juicy and flavourful. This time, the mac and cheese gave it a salty upgrade which was so goooddd because who doesn't like fried mac and cheese?!

My verdict? TWO THUMBS UP! Make it permanent and put us out of our craving misery! Hahaha! Definitely a burger to savour!

That's it for this post
Cheers!

P/S: I did a mani inspired by the event. Check it out here

Rocku Yakiniku, Pavilion

Yo peeps!

This post is a bit overdue but I'll try to explain the juiciness as best as I can remember! =)

Rocku Yakiniku...now where to start...ah yes! You all know what barbeque rite but did yoi know that there are different ways to have barbeque? Rocku Yakiniku is a Japanese style barbeque joint that uses hot coals and a barbwire grill.

The line into the restaurant on the 6th floor of Pavilion was extremely long! Remember to make a booking if you don't want to wait 30 minutes or more.

The staff will bring a pot of coal and place it under the wire once you've ordered. There will be a an order sheet on the table for you to tick what kind of meat you would like. Since they use coal to cook the meat, it is on a 70 minute time limit so eat as much as you can...FAST!

Vegetables and sauces can be found at the buffet area...not much to choose from but I like grilled capsicum and pumpkin! I also question the inclusion of apples...i tried to make grilled apples but it was a little too late by the time I had enough space to grill it...

We had a portion of all the meat to try since it was our first time there and we didn't know how big the portions were. As a pork lover...love it!!! Gotta go again one day to experiment marinating sauces! Le boyfriend is good at that!

The overall grill size is pretty small but it cooks quite fast especially at the beginning when the coal is at its hottest so remember to keep an eye on it!

We also called a few bottles of Kirin! There was a beer girl walking around the restaurant so be on the look out for her for she may have promotional beers to give out!

That's all for this post...sorey if it wasn't as juicy as I said it would be but I must admit that it was quite good albeit a bit expensive!

Shall leave you guys with some pics of us! That's it for this post!
Cheers!

KyöChon 1991, One Utama

 Hihi!

Good Afternoon Foodies! Today's review is on KyöChon 1991, One Utama! I can't believe the very first restaurant is the same age as me?! Oh no! Now you all know my age...hahaha... that's ok! =)

When I first heard of KyöChon, I was very excited as it reminded me of this restaurant in Melbourne called Gami! Both are Korean restaurants specialising in fried chicken! No...its not fast food but seriously good marinated chicken in super good sauce. Gami was one of my favourite restaurants when I was studying in Melbourne! Sometimes you couldn't even get a seat without making a booking first.

Anyways, back to Malaysia and KyöChon... I finally got a chance to try the infamous chicken and I have to say that it does not disappoint.

KyöChon is located on the lower ground floor of 1U New Wing next to Cold Storage. It was close to 2.30pm and the place was packed to the brim and there was a line of hungry people waiting for seats.

At the entrance, you can see a pop up of Lee Min Ho, the ambassador of KyöChon welcoming you in. Moreover, if you're first in the line, you get to sit at the waiting table which was signed by a couple of Super Junior members!

We were seated after 15 minutes which wasn't that long a wait but considering the time we were there...hmmmm The menu consisted of labeled pages consisting of 3 flavours of chicken - soy sauce, red (spicy) & honey, side dishes, meal sets, and drinks.

The boyfriend and I were not too keen on plum or yuja tea which came with the sets so we opted for ala cartes and ordered a set of 8 mixed wings and drummet each of red and soy flavour, kimchi soup, garlic fried rice and barley tea.

The waiter will advise that it will be a 20-30 minutes waiting time. They are NOT a fast food joint! Hahaha! We didn't mind the wait as we played around with some still photography. =D

When the food came! Yay!

The tea came first of course and well...you can't expect much of barley tea but it was refillable so good on ya!

Barley Tea - Pot (RM5)

The kimchi soup and garlic fried rice is labelled as 'new' on the menu. The kimchi soup was alright, a bit on the sour side from the kimchi but good. The fried rice on the other habd was oily...I know garlic fried rice is supposed to be oily but it felt like each grain of rice was covered in oil...

 Kimchi Soup (RM8.90)

Garlic Fried Rice (RM5.90)

Then...dum dum dum! The main dish - the chicken arrived. It didn't look like much and the portion was quite small...a bit if a let down especially since I'm used to eating Gami sized chicken. The first bite blew all the disappointment away though as the skin was crispy and the sauce was deep and flavourful.

Original Soy Sauce Wings Mix - 8 pieces (RM16)

Red Wings Mix - 8 pieces (RM16)

I used my fingers to eat since I'm not good with de-boning chicken like le boyfriend. (There is a wash basin in the restaurant so no worries eating with your hands) We took our time eating and the skin remained crispy the whole time!

After the meal, you get Lee Min Ho postcards along with your receipt after paying.

My verdict? TWO THUMBS UP! Absolutely loved it and wouldn't mind waiting in line again for more but the price is on the high side so watch your budget yeah!

That's it for this post!
Cheers!
