The Bites Cafe, Lake Fields Sungai Besi

Hi all! 

Today's review is on The Bites Cafe at Lakefield, Sungai Besi. 

I actually read a review on this cafe a few months ago and wanted to try it out since it was relatively near where I lived. 

I went alone today to kill time while my car was being serviced at Acanta Autotech. It was only a 5 minute walk to the cafe from the garage surprisingly. 

There was a nice ambience going on in the cafe with so many inspirational quotes, movie posters and pictures hung on the walls. 

I also liked the fact that you could see into the kitchen with a view of a metal chicken full of eggs. XD 

Ok, enough of the interior and let's go on to the food. I ordered a glass on cold milk and a waffle with salted gula melaka ice cream. Gula melaka ice cream...excuse me while I drool yum! Gula melaka ice cream! 

The ice cream in the cafe is by The Last Polka and they've got quite a variety of flavours to choose from. May have to come back for a tasting session. XD

Ya know milk is milk so how do you jazz up a glass of milk? You serve it in an udder glass! The glass was so cute that I just had to take a closer shot of the udder! Hahaha! 

Finally, the waffles...it looks pretty enough but the taste was quite disappointing as the waffle was hard and I don't mean crunchy...HARD... the ice cream was only so-so and how much can you expect from the grilled banana? 

I wouldn't go back for the waffle but I would give the ice cream another chance. I would also like to try their savouries as I arrived around lunchtime and the place was packed with office workers. There must be something that keeps them coming back and the ambience can't be the only thing. 

There were also some cakes in the display case which changes daily, may want to give that a try too. 

That's it for the food...how bout another shot of the interior to end the post? They have this nice little nook at the back of the cafe with grizzly bear bean bags which has a reserved sign on it. Cute...but what's the point it no one can sit in it?

Oh Scooter Cafe, USJ 21

Hey guys! 

Today's review is on Oh Scooter Cafe in USJ 21. 

I've been to this cafe I think 5 times since I first went and so far so good. The cafe is located opposite Main Place mall and features a rustic theme which surrounds scooters of course! Enough of me talking, here are some photos! 

Tonight, I order my usual green tea latte hold the coffee of course (fyi, i can't drink coffee or else there will disastrous consequences to pay) and a green tea tart to try. I usually order a s'more brownie which is absolutely delicious and of course I got a shot of it for you guys! Jason a.k.a 'the boyfriend' ordered a hot cup of hazelnut chocolate. 

Green Tea Latte (RM9.90)

There was a nice latte art on it but I think latte art does not agree with green tea. This happens everytime I order it. 

Hazelnut Chocolate (RM8.90)

This was so-so like normal hazelnut syrup with hot chocolate but the latte art was beautiful! 

Green Tea Tart (RM13.90) 

I wanted to try something new and decided on the green tea tart. It wasn't what i expected...the chocolate crust was a bit overwhelming for me. Le bf asked if I wanted the s'more but the chocolate really put me off for the night.

S'more Brownies 

Simply delicious! If I were to score this, it would be 10/10! If I made thus myself, I think I would die of a chocolate overdose.

The Signature Cofee with Cotton Candy is a must try at Oh Scooter. Try dipping the cotton candy into the coffee! The smoothie is also quite good.

Hey all!

So...not really sure how to go about a food blog but I'll just go with the flow for now. =D

Met up with my friend Moon today after so many months! We were supposed to meet up at Favourites Waffles at 1pm but there were a few unforeseen circumstances;

ONE : We arrived at ss15 EARLY! Which is a miracle because we are the 遅刻カップル (chikoku couple) aka the always never on time and always late couple.

TWO : Favourites Waffle supposedly opens at 1pm but no one answered the phone when we called to see if they were open.

Everyone was starving so...time to google some other brunch places in the area! Flat white was the first place to pop up so off we went. It was so near to boot! It's on the first floor on the row of shops facing Asia Cafe.

There was a nice ambience going on in the cafe and there weren't too many people at the time so good timing for us since we had a lot to chat about.

I ordered a European which is essentially Eggs Benedict with ham and toast and Moon had the Tunisian which essentially is baked eggs with toast.

I tried some of it and it was a little too heavy on the tomato for me but Moon absolutely loved it!

What is a catch up session without dessert! XD

We had a chocolate peanut butter cake which was alsolutely to die for! Moist chocolate and peanut butter creme...=D''' Yummy-nezz

I also ordered a pandan creme brulee which ended up a vanilla creme brulee cause the barista failed the sugar!

It was a funny situation where he came to our table and asked if he could change the flavor cause he failed on burning the sugar for the last pandan creme brulee. Of course, we didn't mind and then when we walked back to the counter, he slightly bumped other barista who was bringing over the cake and as he was about to place the cake on the table, the cake toppled on its side. He got irritated and left to get another slice. We wouldn't have minded the cake like that but I guess it's policy to serve cake straight? Good service I say! (Good entertainment too =D)

Final score : 9/10

Hey guys!

Jing from CRNailz here! (With cameo appearance of the boy! This was the first photo taken with the NX Mini)

I just got a new camera - the Samsung NX Mini! Been thinking of up-ing my photo quality and try a different genre of blogging. Plus, having a lighter camera to take to Japan is so much better than lugging around my Canon 60D...

So, I noticed that concentrating on a single subject is easier than a daily life blog for me. Thus, the birth of CRNomz!
